Schofield is a city in Marathon County, Wisconsin, United States. It is part of the Wausau, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,169 at the 2010 census.[6] The city was named for Dr. William Scholfield, who came to the area in the 1840s to open a saw mill.
